High Performance Athlete Development Pathway

Explore a unique pathway that provides student athletes, aged 14 18, technical, theoretical and experiential opportunities in the pursuit of high performance athletics.

Engage in the CBE’s first High Performance Athlete Development (HPAD) Pathway that is based on athlete development principles recognized by the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Paralympic Committee, Own The Podium, Canadian Sport Institute Calgary and several national sport organizations.

Create a personalized pathway earning up to 15 high school credits per year that meets both academic and athletic goals. Refer to the detailed information and course outline in:

Who

  • Students who want to progress as serious athletes, leading to potential involvement in university/college athletics and/or national level sport
  • High school students in the Calgary area, Grades 10-12, who want a flexible and focussed academic and athletic experience

When and Where

  • Bowness High School, 4627 77th St. NW, Calgary, AB, along with several other sites including the Olympic Oval, University of Calgary and Canada Olympic Park
