Calgary Board of Education

Meet the Administration

Principal: Jim Simpson

It is a privilege to serve as Principal of Lord Beaverbrook High School.

I am very proud of our school for many reasons. Our strength comes from our people: students, parents, and staff. There is tremendous opportunity for students to grow, learn and contribute to our school community. The success of our students is a collective effort. We have so much to celebrate together!

Prior to my arrival at LBHS, I served as System Principal, CBE Area V Office; Principal at Queen Elizabeth High School and Annie Gale School, CBE Curriculum Specialist.

Go, Lords!

Assistant Principal: Colin Haydu

It is with a tremendous sense of gratitude that I serve as Assistant Principal at Lord Beaverbrook High School.

I am incredibly proud of our school as we offer rich opportunities for students to learn and flourish. Only the best is good enough for our children.

Prior to coming to Lord Beaverbrook, I served as an Assistant Principal for three years at James Fowler High School, and taught Music at several Calgary high schools.

Assistant Principal: Amardeep Chana

I am extremely pleased that I am part of an amazing administration team at Lord Beaverbrook High School.
The strong learning community that is at Lord Beaverbrook High School provides our students with up to date and personalized opportunities for success.

Prior to coming to Lord Beaverbrook High School, I was the Advanced Placement Learning Leader at Ernest Manning High School.  I was also a Science Learning Leader at Crescent Heights High School.

Assistant Principal: David Sparrow

It is with great anticipation and appreciation that I join the administration/teaching team here at Lord Beaverbrook High School. To become a “Lord” at one of Western Canada’s and Canada’s most esteemed High Schools is truly an honour. I look forward to working with all stakeholders here at LBHS.

I believe it is necessary to provide our future citizens and leaders with educational opportunities which foster innovative thinking, leadership and life-long learning. Although success looks different for everyone, I believe every student has the ability to succeed here at Lord Beaverbrook High School.

I started my teaching career while in graduate school at the University of Calgary in the faculty Science. These experiences brought forth my passion for teaching and education and thus my career within the Calgary Board of Education followed. To date I have had the honour to serve our students as a teacher and learning leader at several Calgary High Schools and as area II Learning Leader with the Alberta Initiative for School Improvement. I come to Lord Beaverbrook High School from Ernest Manning High School where I was an Assistant Principal.

Assistant Principal: Steven Radder

I am honoured to be working with the staff and students at Lord Beaverbrook High School and Juno Beach Academy.

Seeking constant improvement on behalf of our students is a goal I work toward each day. I am so proud to work in a school full of individuals working to build community and to better themselves through education.

Prior to my role here, I spent my career working with students at the middle school level in a wide variety of subject and grade areas at both Bob Edwards School and Mountain Park School. Go Lords!
