Proposed Walk Zone Survey | Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School

Dear CBE Parents and Guardians,

Re: Walk zones for new schools

As the Calgary Board of Education opens new schools there are a number of decisions that need to be made including finalizing a walk zone for each school.

School walk zones impact transportation services and lottery acceptance if future registrations exceed available space. The recommended walk zones for each school are established by the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). This committee is comprised of parents, representatives from service providers, elementary, middle/junior and high school principals, and CBE Planning & Transportation staff. The aim is to establish walk zones that respect the uniqueness of each community and adhere to CBE guidelines.

Before the walk zones are finalized, parents and community members have another opportunity for input. You are invited to view the proposed walk zones posted your school website and then complete an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/walkzones to provide your feedback. This survey will be open until June 14, 2018.

The final determination of these new school walk zones will be made by the end of June 2018, once finalized the new maps will be available on the school profile page.

Thank you for your input and participation.

If you have questions, concerns or require additional information regarding walk zones please contact CBE Transportation Services at transportation@cbe.ab.ca or 403-817- 7433.
