Knowledge and Employability (KAE)
Knowledge and Employability courses are designed for students who demonstrate reading, writing, mathematical and/or other levels of achievement two to three grade levels below their age-appropriate grade. Lord Beaverbrook offers Knowledge and Employability courses to provide students with opportunities to experience success and become well-prepared for employment, further studies, citizenship and lifelong learning. These courses are designed for students who meet the criteria and learn best through hands-on experiential activities.
Students choosing senior high Knowledge and Employability (KAE) courses typically wish to enhance their academic and occupational competencies and gain successful transition into employment and/or continuing education and training opportunities. All KAE courses are designated 5-credit courses and are identified with the (-4) designation.
Students taking KAE courses will qualify for a Certificate of High School Achievement or they may continue their studies to qualify for an Alberta High School Diploma.
