Principal’s Student Advisory Council
The LBHS Principal’s Student Advisory Council will begin to meet with Mr. Simpson in September 2016.
What is the council for?
The purpose of the Council is to advise, consult, inform, and work with the Principal. The Council will also take an active role in leading some school-wide improvement and school community, citizenship initiatives.
What will the council do?
Over the course of the year, the Council will: meet with Mr. Simpson and discuss current issues affecting students, issues that affect our school and school community; engage in conversation about our school’s future, high school redesign, student success; take an active role in leading some school-wide improvement and school community, citizenship initiatives; and support Grade 9 Transition from our feeder schools.
Who gets to be on the council?
The council should be representative of our student population, skills, interests and talents. Each grade 10, 11 and 12 will be represented on the Council. The total number of council members is dependent on interest expressed by students. Depending on the number of applicants it may be necessary to screen applications. Council members will be a combination of students nominated by teachers and selected through an application process.
For 2018-19, students interested in being a part of the Advisory Council need to apply by September 24, 2018. Further information about the Council and the application form can be found here:
