Student Duties

June 2017

Library Books due - June 2, 2017 - The library staff would like to remind students to return borrowed library materials by June 2. If there is a concern with returning the material, please meet with a library staff member. Students will be responsible for covering the cost of lost materials. Replacement costs for lost materials are payable in the Business Office. To prevent a delay in the refund of your Security Deposit Cheque, please attend to this before the end of June. Funds may be refunded if materials are found and returned in good condition.

Last Day of Regular Classes - Modified Schedule - Tuesday, June 13, 2016 is the last day of regular classes. Class times will follow a Monday schedule with modified times as listed below:
- Period 1 - 8:30 am - 9:10 am
- Period 2 - 9:15 am - 9:55 am
- Period 3 - 10:00 am - 10:40 am
- Period 4 - 10:45 am - 11:25 am

LOCKERS / LOCKER CLEAN OUT - Tuesday, June 13 - All students are asked to empty and clean their lockers of all posters, graffiti, papers and garbage by 12:00 noon on June 13. Locks are to be returned to the business office. After June 13, all lockers will be checked, repaired and readied for the next school year. Anything not claimed by June 13 cannot be secured and will be donated to charity.

MARK APPEAL DAY - DIPLOMA MARK - Thursday, June 15 - Diploma mark appeals for school earned course marks in diploma courses. Diploma course marks on the school report card only reflect the school earned portion (70%) of the final grade. Diploma exam results will be sent directly from Alberta Education to the student's residence, approximately four to six weeks from the writing date.

MARK APPEAL DAY - NON-DIPLOMA COURSES - Monday, June 26 - Mark appeal day for non-diploma course marks is Monday, June 26.  

EXAM SCHEDULE - June 14 - June 29, 2017- Course exams and Alberta Diploma exams will take place June 14, 2017 through June 29, 2017 with no regular scheduled classes during this time; however, daily tutorials will be available. For further details please refer to the exam schedule available on the school website.

Please Note: Secured lockers are not available during the June exam days, but a coat check will run from the business office for small bags (no large backpacks).

TEXTBOOKS - Please return your textbooks as soon as possible to the business office. Students may keep first textbooks until the day of their exam. Please return your textbooks before writing each exam. Books can be returned:

    - 30 minutes before the exam into guarded book boxes OR
    - to the business office anytime prior to and on the exam day.

EXAM INFORMATION - NO CELL PHONES - Cell phones, electronic devices (I-Pods, MP3 players, etc.), PDAs, translators, purses, coats, book bags, binders, books, and food are not permitted into exam rooms. Please plan to bring student ID card and only the necessities for writing the exam. Calculators are permitted in some exams. The school can not be responsible for valuable personal items. SCIENCE 10 LAB EXAMS - Wednesday, June 14 - Monday, June 19 - This is a reminder to parents of Science 10 students that they have been scheduled to complete a final practical lab exam in addition to their written Science 10 final. The more than 300 Science 10 students each have been given a date and time to come to school during exam weeks to do this. Each student has signed a copy of the schedule, beside their name, in their Science class. Teachers have discussed the lab exam process with students. As this is part of their final exam (worth 5% of their final Science 10 grade), this is not optional, nor able to be rescheduled. Please check with your student to ensure they know the date and time of their appointment.

TRANSPORTATION - Plan transportation routes in advance. The Calgary Transit 700 school service routes will be adjusted as follows:
- June 14 - 29 - All morning routes will remain the same.
- June 14 - 29 - Afternoon routes to Sherwood, Hamptons and Edgemont are CANCELLED
- June 14 - 29 - Afternoon route to Nolan Hill Remain the same.

MARK REPORTING - Marks will be available for students to review. For further information please review detailed information in the student agenda book or on the school website.

REPORT CARDS - Report cards will be available for pickup on Thursday, June 29 from 9:00 - 1:00 pm. Students who are unavailable on this date may leave a stamped self-addressed envelope in the business office. These will be mailed during July.

SECURITY DEPOSIT CHEQUES AND REPORT CARDS - Thursday, June 29 from 9:00 - 1:00 pm

FIRST - Return all correctly numbered textbooks, outstanding classroom items and library books prior to 9:00 am on Thursday, June 29.
SECOND - Security deposit cheques ($50.00) and report cards will be distributed in the cafeteria between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Thursday, June 29. Students must provide photo ID. Students who are unavailable on this date may leave a stamped self-addressed envelope in the business office. These requests will be mailed during July.
