Alberta Senior Football Bowl
May 2017

congratulations to Salim F on his performance in the Alberta Senior Football Bowl. This is an annual high school all-star game pitting the best players in Southern Alberta vs. the best players from the North.  To make this team is exceptionally difficult, and Salim not only made it but excelled, recording 4 tackles, a quarterback sack and a pass knockdown in a 26-15 win.

Congratulations Salim!

Sr Boys Basketball Team
March 20, 2017

Congratulations go out to the senior boys basketball team. This past weekend they traveled to Lethbridge and completed in the 4A Provincial Championships. The team went in as the 11th seed. Thursday night they played 6th ranked Raymond at Raymond in front of a noisy packed gym. The boys left with a 108-92 victory over a very stunned team and crowd. Next the boys played this year’s Calgary city champions LB Pearson, seeded 3rd  on Friday. The boys defeated LBP 79-64 to advance to the provincial semi – finals. The next two games were played to a full house at the new U of L court. The team lost close ones to Cardston in the semi- final and to STFX who were seeded #1 in the third place game Saturday night. The week end was one that we will remember for sure.

Special thanks go out to Mr. Rajan, Mr. Adams and Mr. Nickell as well as 4 student supporters for making their way down to Lethbridge to cheer on the team.

Provincial Wrestling Tournament Championships!
March 2016

This past weekend Bev Facey in Sherwood Park hosted the Wrestling Provincial Championships.   Our girls finished first as a team – Provincial Champions!!! – and  our boys finished second overall.  This marks the 9th boys or girls provincial championship in the past 8 years.
Gold Medal : Olivia M., Halima F., Ryan M.
Silver MedalKenza M., Stephanie H., Tawes M., Lalish N.
Bronze MedalHazel S., Emma K., Azam K.
This concludes our 2015-2016 wrestling season.  Good luck to all spring sports teams!

Congratulations on a Great Season of Play!

Jr Boys Basketball – coaches: Dave Nickell, Tony Fitz and Brian Adams.  The team had a strong season of play with some great wins and some tight matchups down the stretch.  The playoffs were marked by highs and lows as they were dominant in the seeding round crossover game against Grandin, but lost the quarterfinal to St. Mary’s by 2.  There is a solid core of talented players who will be fun to watch for the next couple of years.

Sr Girls Basketball -  coaches: Chris Wright, Sarah Williams.  The sr girls improved on their pre-season ranking of 10th in the city to 7th by the end of regular season play.  This earned them the opportunity meet St. Francis (#1 ranked team in the province) in quarterfinals on Monday.  The girls came up short on the scoreboard, but played gritty and tough.  We like to think that we have prepared St. Francis well for their hopeful city and provincial championship run.

Sr Boys Basketball – coaches: Mike Fullerton, Morgan Tudor.  The Sr Boys negotiated a supremely strong north division and short bench to finish the regular season in 2nd place – a great feat!  There was a tremendous crowd for the quarterfinal game vs St. Francis last night.  It was an action packed, down to the wire exhibition of great basketball by two well coached teams!  Unfortunately our boys came up a point short, but the back and forth finish showed determination and toughness in a pressure filled game.  Congratulations to the players and coaches on the season…it may be too soon to find a silver lining, but the future is bright and filled with opportunity!!

Ms. Williams, Athletic Director

Girls Rugby - June 2014

The girls’ rugby team were at provincials this past weekend. They were seeded 8th going in to the tournament and over the course of the weekend proved that seeding very wrong indeed! The girls’ lost their first game against the top seed Raymond, it was a tough loss after the girls dominated Raymond for most of the game. Raymond ending up winning provincials comfortably and their coaches and players regarded their game against us as the toughest and scariest game they’d played in a long time.

The girls won their remaining games against Strathcona (Edmonton) and Holy Trinity (Okotoks) quite comfortably (50-0, 38-5) to finish in 5th place.  The girls impressed everyone with their organized, enterprising rugby and they showed great strength of character. They are a truly unique group who have literally put their bodies and hearts on the line in every game played for each other and their school.

Sr Girls Field Hockey - June 6, 2014

Sr Girls Field Hockey had a tough loss last night.  They had double overtime, and then a double shootout.  The girls played their hearts out, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more from them.  If you see any of them today, tell them congratulations as that was the first loss they had all season, pretty impressive to be the only team in the league to have won ALL of their games up until that point.
