Welcome to Phys Ed at Sir Winston Churchill

The aim of our Physical Education Department is to provide a program of studies that integrates the four outcomes of our provincial curriculum. We teach about skill, interpersonal relationships, a lifelong commitment to and health benefits derived from physical activity. These outcomes are taught through activities in both school and alternate site environments.

Our teachers work with our students to achieve responsible citizenship, teamwork along with individual achievement and competency. There are a variety of new activities and sports introduced at the physical education 20 – 30 levels.

Alberta Education requires all students to take Physical Education 10. Physical Education 20 and 30 are optional courses whose curriculum stresses lifetime activities. Areas of study include individual sports and lifetime outdoor activities. A student can also specialize into to our Sports Performance 15, 25 and 35 as well as Sports Medicine 15, 25 and 35.
