Personal/General Psychology 20 - 6 credits
Prerequisite: none

The purpose of this general course is to stimulate interest in the field of psychology. The following areas will be covered – history of the main theories of psychology; the brain, body and behavior; motivation and perception; gender differences; measuring personality; frustration, conflict, stress and drugs; mental disorders, treatment and therapies.

Experimental Psychology/ Applied Sociology 30 - 6 credits
Prerequisite: Psychology 20 (or grade 12 students with recommendations from Student Services or Administration)

This Social Science option is a continuation of concepts dealt with in Psychology 20. Topics of study include methods of psychology; consciousness; intelligence; and creativity; sociology; culture the phenomenon of deviance/cults and the criminal mind.
