ELL - English Language Learners


ELL Student Support

Online resources and support is available for all English Langugage Learners. Students who are identified as ELL are given access to a special shell in Brightspace (D2L) called "ELL Student Support". You can access this by logging into Brightspace (D2L).

Every student who is coded as ELL (English Language Learner) is required to complete a benchmark assessment of English ability once per school year.

All assessments will take place in the Student Services Conference Room

Q: I am a student at another school. Do I need to do this at both schools?
A: No. Students who are only taking courses at CBe-learn will do this assessment at CBe-learn.

Q When can I do this?
A: See the "Event Details" on the side of this document. This information can also be found on our website at

Q: How long is the test?
A: The test takes approximately two hours. It will start promptly at the times listed and so please come a few minutes early.

Q: Do I need to study for the test?
A: No. The test assesses your current listening, reading and writing skills but there is nothing you need to study.

Q: What do I need to bring?
A: You only need to bring your government issued picture ID and a pencil.

Q: Do I need to register for this test?
