Provincial Achievement Exams | Grade 9
Exams are written at CBe-learn, in Lord Shaughnessy High School.
In May and June of this year, Grade 9 students throughout the province will write Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Results from these tests will provide Alberta Education, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and the public with information about what students know and can do in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 9.
All grade 9 CBe-learn students will write PATs at the test center in Lord Shaughnessy School (2336 53 Ave. S.W., Calgary AB) where we are equipped with space, supervision and adequate technology.
A grade 9 student who does not write the scheduled PATs will be marked either excused or absent.
Excused or Absent
Excused will be requested and negotiated ahead of time with the Principal for reasons which may include anxiety, a learning disability, etc., and the parent wants this reason documented.
Absent will occur when the student is ill on the scheduled day or the parent chooses not to bring them to the PAT.
There are no academic consequences for either of the above.
