The Health Sciences courses offered will provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience and practical skills in the areas of anatomy, physiology and medical-based practices. Most of the teaching is done with personal instruction from industry experts, as the student works through projects. As new technologies emerge the training offered will evolve. Through learning and experience in Health Sciences, students will become aware of related career opportunities in this field.
Students will develop specialized skills and knowledge associated with a variety of health care occupations. These include anatomy, physiology and medical based practices. Students will investigate responsibilities of health care occupations and demonstrate communication/observation skills for working in health care related fields. Opportunities for work study and associated credentials are available. Negotiated agreements with post-secondary institutions may provide further articulation, dual credit or preferred placements in accredits programs.
