Powerpoint - The Basics

  • Open the Insert menu
  • Click on the New Slide
  • Choose the second slide layout (or any layout with bullets)
  • Create a bulleted text by typing your points in the text box (Note: hitting Enter will automatically create a new bullet)


  • Spacing - to change the spacing
    * Highlight the text
    * Use the arrow/text symbols in the upper right tool bar to expand or decrease spacing
  • Demote/Promote - to change the indentation on the bullets:
    * Highlight the less important bullet
    * Click on the arrows beside the A's in the upper right tool bar
    * Change the appearance of the bulleted text as you wish
